Hardened and ground gears are featured in the headstock and gearbox. D1-4 spindle is supported by high-quality tapered roller bearings. Headstock is constantly oiled during operation. V-way bed design is induction hardened and ground. You have not centred the upper surface of tip of the cutting tool accurately, the tip of the tool is set too low,
Realign the upper surface cutting tip of tool with the point of the tail-stock centre. Reface the bar end again and the pip should be removed.
